A vintage football helmet's interior condition score makes up 25% of the AntiqueFootball Helmet grade. The interior condition evaluation criteria takes into consideration the condition of both the shell and padding on each interior surface to arrive at a composite interior condition score. Evaluation categories are similar to those analyzed under the exterior condition inspection. The following is a brief summary of the categories and the methodology used in evaluating condition.

Interior Shell Score Deductions
The tables below identifies the deductions given for various interior shell and interior padding condition issues:
Desiccation
Deductions for desiccation of a helmet's interior are assessed in a similar manner to its exterior evaluation, using a sliding deduction scale for increasing stages of deterioration. Only the exposed leather of fabric areas of the interior of a helmet are evaluated when interior padding is present and intact.
Interior Condition Grading Worksheet
Interior condition deductions are tallied for each evaluation criteria and for each interior surface. The final interior condition grade is computed by subtracting the total interior condition deductions from 200 and dividing the result by 2.
